I am loving plaid lately and I used to just think it was for Fall, but boy was I wrong. My sister gave me this coat and I fell in love. I love how big and baggy the fit is (I’m wearing a medium). I saw this coat and envisioned a mustard shirt with dark denim. And that’s just what I wanted until I realized I do not own one mustard shirt. I drove my booty over to H&M and found this linen shirt for $5! Not to mention while I was there I also got these three necklaces, all under $6. So yea, they are having a huge sale, like every other store right now trying to rid winter merchandise. Man time flies by, and today is thirsty thursday so whose having a drink? I hope I will be!

Busy Mama

Happy New Year to all! I love New Years, I love New anything. Always a new challenge and adventure which I am up for. And speaking of new, this dress came in the mail the other day and I was so excited because I am a huge fan of the built in choker, one less necklace I need to worry about! Like I said in my previous cut-out neck post this detail adds sexiness without showing too much. Too much skin is never good and this is the perfect amount. And I love how the dress is ribbed adding a nice texture and touch! This can be dressed up with a pair of OTK books and a hat or the way I style it over jeans. I like the vibe the bell bottoms add, almost 70s inspired. If worn as a dress, it is a swing dress style so even little ankle or sock boots would look great. I just see the bohemian potential this dress has to offer. It is also on sale and I will provide a link* below. Today’s look was just simple, one that I can actually maneuver in because it is a busy day. We started off at the doctor for Mase, then he wanted his favorite (chicken noodle soup) from Panera, fill his prescription, go food shopping, renew my license (bc I’m getting old) and do a hundred loads of laundry (that’s what it feels like anyway). Oh and let’s not forget I still need to take down my tree. I tackled all the decorations yesterday, phew! Sorry for the run-on sentences but I don’t think the grammar police are reading today anyway! Happy Monday y’all!

Hint of Mint

Okay, a lot of mint actually. Again. I can’t get enough of it. Mase is my little mint twin. This dress feels like a jersey cotton and is just so comfortable and also a go-to a lot of times. Just easy. That’s what I strive for in the heat with a baby who never seems to run out of fuel! Kid is like the energizer bunny and I’m just trying to keep up.

Monday Maxi & Mason

Mondays are like the black sheep of the week, no one likes them. I, for one, absolutely love Mondays because I feel it’s the start of something new but putting much thought into an outfit isn’t something I’m prepared for today. Maxi’s really are the Monday “what do I wear” cure. This may be unconventional for the business work attire, but for the mom (me), it’s a no brainer. Rompers/jumpsuits totally work too! They cover up the bloat from the weekend of guilty eating and drinking. I ate two cartons of ice cream last night back to back (sea salt caramel & vanilla) and then hot wings drenched in blue cheese so I am completely in need of flowy-ness. It’s so embarrassing seeing that written down (what I ate) but it is what it is. And what it was was damn good! So this is what Monday looks like for me, maxi’s & Mason!

Heart Shaped Rocks

I know it’s been a while, believe me. Being a stay at home mom does not mean you have all the time in the world. We are always out doing something or I am washing bottles/dishes and/or cleaning constantly because Mason is like a mini tornado just demolishing everything and anything. And rightfully so, he is a little explorer! Contrary to popular belief, the demands of motherhood has in fact hindered me from my daily blogging. But I managed to sneak one in today, and hopefully stick with it.
On my shoot, I found this rock, out of all rocks that was shaped like a heart. I thought it was adorable, so of course I took a picture with it. Enjoy!

Mama & Mase Time

Andrew was off bright and early for work and Mase and I decided to just have a day of fun and play. This little boy is into everything and so observant and nothing gets past him. It’s such a beautiful day so we will definitely be going to the park and for a nice long walk. Hopefully my ankle holds up!

Basic Chick

I like to call this outfit a basic chick because it can be worn everyday, anywhere. There is nothing unusual or unique about it, just comfort and cuteness. Perfect for a lunch date, shopping, errands, whatever. It’s a “safe outfit”. You can’t go wrong. Stripes are timeless, jeans are a staple and a fur vest that I wear way too much is a classic. See where I’m going with this? Spice it up with some cute jewelry and viola, get your day started.

Self-confidence is the best outfit. Rock it and own it.
