Lumberjackie

I am loving plaid lately and I used to just think it was for Fall, but boy was I wrong. My sister gave me this coat and I fell in love. I love how big and baggy the fit is (I’m wearing a medium). I saw this coat and envisioned a mustard shirt with dark denim. And that’s just what I wanted until I realized I do not own one mustard shirt. I drove my booty over to H&M and found this linen shirt for $5! Not to mention while I was there I also got these three necklaces, all under $6. So yea, they are having a huge sale, like every other store right now trying to rid winter merchandise. Man time flies by, and today is thirsty thursday so whose having a drink? I hope I will be!

My Rock(et)

Lately I have been more attached to Mase than ever. We have been touring preschools and it just hits you like a bat out of hell: my child will be leaving me soon? For school? I could have sworn I just gave birth to him yesterday, or what feels like yesterday. I don’t know where the time goes or why it goes so fast but such is life. We walk into all these schools and Mason makes friends right away, all the kids love him and congregate around him. As a mother observing, this is such a warm feeling inside. They ask him his name and also if he’d like to play. He acts as if I don’t even exist and there I go, off in the distance. I’m speaking to the head of schools while still keeping an eye on my baby boy because that’s all I know how to do. I feel like I can’t let go but he is so advanced and ready for school, that it is for the better. He is extremely social and the teachers can tell he is super advanced and he needs to utilize those skills. When I first found out I was pregnant I automatically wanted to homeschool him. My cousin did it and I really wanted to. Turns out, it wasn’t all that easy and like I had thought it would be. There were so many requirements with the state, and you had to be in a homeschooling community/town, just wasn’t possible unless we moved. I was homeschooled for 6 months in 6th grade and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I had a broken leg so I couldn’t go to school even if I wanted to. Back to Mase, I don’t know how parents do it. We chose a school super close to home so I can basically keep my eye on him all day if I wanted too. Aka going for jogs in circles around it for the three long hours that will feel like eternity when he is not with me. I know this is something every mom has to deal with and it will be a challenege, but like anything else I am sure I will adjust. Come September, my baby will be on his way to being the high achieving scholar he is meant to be.

Cape Escape

It’s that time of year, where the tease of a month called “February” is now basically over and our minds are focused on March. March Madness. But not the basketball version. The version where I want to believe it’s warmer out but it’s still cold and wind up going through my entire wardrobe just to find the perfect outfit and BOOM! all I come up with is this lousy run-on sentence that doesn’t even make sense. I know this may sound convoluted but I assure you in the end everything will be copacetic. I despise coats, unless it’s a chic trench and I loathe jackets, unless they are leather or a good diy denim. To me they are restricting and always hinder the best outfits. Hence, the cape. The cape is flowy, and open, occupying just your shoulders while leaving your arms free. Pictured below I buttoned mine, and tried keeping it closed because it is still freezing outside. It’s almost as if they stole the whole idea from the heinous hair salon ensemble they cover you in the second before they start painting your scalp. But instead of heinous, it’s genius. In my opinion. The cape is a perfect way to escape the cold into spring with chilly winds or a cool breeze, etc. Since today I had to sacrifice my inanimate child leather jacket, I decided to throw on my leather leggings. These shall suffice. Happy and healthy weekend to all!

I used to care what people thought about me until one day I tried to pay my bills with their opinions.

Memory Lane

These pictures were taken last week before I chopped my mop, hence my long hair. I’m exhausted just looking at it. Hair for days. These pants give me legs for days, also with the illusion that I have no feet. That is one of my all-time favorite looks. Hope ya’ll enjoy.

Free & Fringe Friday

I got the sickest deal on this sweater. Sickeningly amazing that is so I had to write about it. This gorgeous frock was originally $168 and I paid a whopping $25. I couldn’t believe my eyes when the girl rang me up (because it wasn’t marked down on the tag when I originally fell in love saw it). I still can’t get over it. The way I appreciate clothing is on another level, it’s like my other children to me. I get extremely ecstatic. Not only that, it was the LAST one and it was MY size. It was meant to be. My heart is beating faster just thinking about it. I could get lost in the detail of this sweater. Now let’s talk booties! Another deal of a lifetime! They were originally $190 & I got them for $36. It really is the most wonderful timeeee of the year!
Oh and that is my amazing Andrew. I had to snap a shot of him because he just always looks so dapper. Xo.

Manic Monday

After the weekend I always crave comfort. It’s a dress down kind of day and super simple. I got an amazing deal on this shirt at the Florida Bloomie’s & when I got back home (to get it in every other color) they weren’t on sale anymore (booo). It was originally $78 & I got it for $40 lousy bills! Nothing too crazy, hope you like!
